Question:

Clear stringy vaginal discharge week before periods due?

I thought that the clear stringy discharge is the "fertile" discharge and only happens around ovulation. but why would I ovulate a week before my periods are due? Is it ovulation or just some random event. supposedly ovulation happened almost exactly 8 days ago but I can't remember having the stringy stuff. I have had s*x this month btw. Anyways thanks

  1. Probably just your body cleaning itself out. Did your bf use a condom? If not , it may be left over secretions or s***n. As long as its white, no problem.

  2. shudder

  3. It is possible that you ovulated later than you expected.

Women's bodies are not mechanical & we all do not ovulate at the same time every month, in fact most of us don't.

It is PURE MYTH that women ovulate 14 days after/before their period, as many woman ovulate at different times in their cycles,

some as early as cycle day 10, some as late as cycle day 20 +.

What method did you use to calculate your ovulation date?

If you used an online ovulation calculator/predictor/calendar, you can be fairly certain that these are innacurate because they operate on averages that do not apply to most women unless you fit that exact average.

I'm going to say that you've ovulated later than you thought this month & might end up having a late period due to later ovulation.

If your goal is to become pregnant, now is the optimal time to attempt conception.

    Medically,

this is probably not something to be too worried about, unless the discharge is accompanied by an odour, chunky/clumpy texture or pain. In this case, it might be an infection of some sorts.

    Good luck!!

But also know that women can secrete all sorts of different cervical mucus types throughout the month due to hormone flucuations.

If you're worried, give your local doctor a call and describe what you're experiencing.

  4. All women get more discharge before their periods.

However, if it is cottage cheese like in appearance, and has an odor, or has increased in quantity considerably recently, then it is likely you have thrush.

This is easily treatable with canesten cream from the supermarket, or another anti fungal cream. It's a fungal infection, so there is no point going to the doctor as they cannot give you anti biotics for it.

You can also buy a one dose thrush treatment pill, which is very effective.

  5. ok

why do u people ask this

    EVRY ONE CAN SEE THIS

    god

    ur weird

  6. idk...ive had that before to..but ive never had s*x before..so

i dont think it has ne thing to do with that.

  7. Women ovulate at different times of their cycle

It is only an average for women to ovulate in the middle of a 28 day cycle .

Its good   you know the different cycles of discharges well. Many women have no idea that there is a mucus cycle.

I had fun conceiving my children because I ovulate about 8 days out and this information was all part of what I went through to get my daughter. I also have a 23 - 25 day cycle

MY son was while I was using medical intervention.

  8. that doesn't sound right at all. i'd go to a doctor.

  9. I thought ovulation was right before your period?  I always have a stringy discharge right before my period.

  10. I had discharge like that for like a week before and after my period and i asked my OBGYN about it and she said that it was fine and she has had o lot of women come in worried about it.
