My boyfriend works works for the local authority and soon his department will be moving to the local police station. He has 2 cauctions 1 from when he was 16 and the other 18 but never been charged with anything. He has got his enhanced crb check back and that is clear but the police are still refusing clearence to allow him to work there. does anyone no why this is? how comes the jauvenille charge is still counting towards him now he is 23 and the original incident was nothing to do with him? They said he is allowed 1 caution so any info would be great. Thanks.

  1. In an enhanced CRB basically everything shows up. He is only 23 so the caution is fairly recent.

At the end of the day it shows that he may not be suitable. To have a juvenile caution shows that he was maybe a daft kid that got caught up in something. To then receive an adult caution as well shows that he hasn't grown up. The background of the incident (that had nothing to do with him) doesn't mean anything. He still admitted that he was guilty of whatever offence it was he was arrested for.

The simple fact of the matter is that if the criteria is that he is allowed 1 caution and he has 2 then he doesn't meet the criteria.

All he can do is ask who the relevant person is that makes the decision on who can work there, and then plead his case.

  2. i don't know, it doesn't make any sense to me and i'm a police officer as well. it's supposed to be cleared when he turns 18, (for the one that happened when he was 16), the 18 year old incident is most likely the reason, since he's an adult it will count against him.

If the incident was any part of a domestic disturbance, then there's your answer. if you're trying to get a job of being a police officer and you have a dem. dis. offense, then your pretty much screwed sometimes, he needs to call the chief, or someone he knows at the police department and ask, and almost in a way, force himself in there.

  3. i had to have checks made to work in a prison they check you your family friends for convictions ect quite a few lads were refused entry even though they had never been in trouble . family members been in trouble . friends and relatives arrested of anything serious things like that. one lad has been refused because he has the same name as someone who has a conviction

  4. The police check will be OK after 10 years.
