Question:

Clematis help needed please?

Ok, this may seem a dumb question but I have two clematis plants climbing very well up their support mesh against my shed. I have tied them in and trained them ok but now the clematis have reached the top, what now? Do I let them "fall" from the top and tie them to the support as they start to drop down or do I just leave them to their own devices now? Sorry to appear thick but I am really unsure as to what to do next.

  1. Fill the mesh by training side shoots out horizontally,is one option, done carefully the clematis will mingle and give a pleasant colour mix.Otherwise, let the plants droop

naturally,no need to tie them in,they'll support by their tendrils.

  2. Check with the international clematis society on tips for pruning your clematis: http://clematisinternational.com/
