The Paris Saint-Germain youngster has heaped praised on his employers citing them as one of the best teams in Europe
A product of Les Parisiens’ youth academy, the 24-year-old has huge respect for his side and is delighted to be playing alongside some of the best players on the planet.
While many players have complained about lack of first team opportunities at Parc des Princes following the arrival of several players during the summer transfer window, Chantome is happy with the way things are progressing at the capital club.
While talking to reporters, the defensive midfielder stated that he is not worried by the new arrivals, and to see the Parisiens on the same level with some of the best clubs in continent makes him proud.
Chantome added that things haven’t changed much around here and the club’s summer recruits have only made them strong.
“I will say the same thing I said last year, for me, who was born here in Paris, it makes me feel so good to see Paris at the same level with the others big teams in Europe," the Frenchman told reporters.
A fan favourite among Parisiens faithful, the 24-year-old has been used sparingly by his different PSG coaches. However, the Frenchman has vowed to bring more to his game in order to get more first-team opportunities this season.
When asked about Paris Saint-Germain’s potential and what they can achieve this season, Chantome had only positive things to say about the club he adores so much.
The defensive midfielder, who has been at Parc des Princes since 2000, said that the club has spent heavily in the transfer market this season and the players they have brought in, are world class.
Chantome added that Carlo Ancelotti’s side is improving day by day and it won’t be long before they start challenging some of the best sides in Europe.
"It's good for the club; hopefully we will keep improving to reach the objectives that the club has set for it. I am really happy."
The 24-year-old did not feature much for the Ligue 1 runners up last season managing only 19 Ligue 1 appearances, and the youngster would be hoping for more opportunities to prove himself this time around.
