The Olympique Lyonnais starlet has made a great start to his Ligue 1 career with Les Gones but is not sure whether he needs to stay at Stade de Gerland in order to progress further in his career
Asked at a press conference, Ligue 1 giants, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yoann-Gourcuff-c37416 and Clement Grenier, two men who play in the same position and have a very similar profile and
might not perform that well when they are together in the same field.
“Grenier and Gourcuff? They are both available. There is the possibility that both play or not. They have a similar profile. One is not better than the other. There is a competition between them. Clement was injured and has worked hard to come back.”
Ahead of the Ligue 1 meeting with LOSC Lille this Sunday, OL Tribune spoke to Clement Grenier regarding the choices made by Garde regarding the two players. However, the youngster appeared undaunted and says that it is the decision of the coach as to who
plays and who sits out in games. Grenier says that he wants to find the form that he had at the start of the season before he was injured.
However, the youngster is still a little disappointed as he knows that he had made a lot of progress before an injury slowed it all down.
“I think I turned a corner during the first months of the season. I became more decisive, more free, more present and physically and psychologically stronger. Before this, I used to take less shots and I could barely lift my head. That is not the case anymore.”
However, Grenier is still undecided about his future with Les Gones and is not sure if he is at a crossroads in his career or not. The midfielder wants to get game time which is a priority for him and has said that before he extended his contract with Lyon,
he experienced a similar situation in which he struggled for game-time.
“I do not know if I’m at a crossroads in my career. I’m only 22 years old. My priority is the game time and to have fun.”
