Sporting Gijon manager, Javier Clemente, has stated that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carles-Puyol-c8331, should be an example for Sergio Ramos.
Clemente has recommend Ramos to follow in the footsteps of Puyol as he is a veteran defender who has accomplished almost everything the beautiful game has to offer.
The Sporting mentor specifically hinted out that Ramos should learn from Puyol’s behaviour on the pitch.
The Spaniard, who got involved in an argument regarding Ramos’ attitude on the pitch, was quite critical of the behaviour portrayed by the Real Madrid defender.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Ramos-c33096 has been criticized time and time again for his behaviour on the field. The Spanish international is known for being too aggressive and physical towards his opponents.
Recently, he was accused of hitting Rayo Vallecano forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-Costa-c11116, in the face with his elbow. Real Madrid emerged 1-0 victorious in the capital derby when they visited Estadio del Rayo Vallecano; however, the hosts were furious as they were not awarded
a penalty following Ramos’ elbow assault on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Costa-c9458, in the penalty box.
Interestingly, Ramos is not the only player in the Real Madrid squad attracting negative publicity. His teammate, Pepe, was also involved in a similar incident when he was found stomping Lionel Messi’s hand last month.
Ramos escaped a red card in Madrid’s match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Racing-c40298 Santander as well, when he intentionally kicked a Santander player during a corner kick.
Such actions have caused problems for Jose Mourinho’s men and Los Blancos appear to have created a negative image of themselves.
Clemente has thus stressed that Ramos should act more like his compatriot, Puyol, and avoid such situations.
In an interview with RAC 1’s Primer Toc programme, the Gijon trainer quoted:
“Puyol is an example for football and should be an example for Ramos and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-c29670 because he goes for the ball honestly. He also tackles, perhaps more than anybody, and gives it everything, but he is honest and also accepts it when they do it to him.”
Thrilling football continues in the Spanish La Liga this weekend, as the season reaches towards its climax.
