Cleofila, a strong contender for Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Salsabil Stakes at Navan
Cleofila has shown enough in the context to be a serious candidate for Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Salsabil Stakes, being held at Navan on Sunday, April 29, 2012.
The 3-year-old has a powerful opposition to face today. Among her rivals are: Kissed, Aaraas, Pale Mimosa, Violet Lashes and Sophies Echo.
According to the program, the €39,000 race will be started at 15:25 GMT. The going is soft to heavy for the 1m2f meeting, which is one of the biggest events of the season.
Cleofila made a fine impression in August last year, when she started off her career with a huge bang. In her debut appearance, the J. S. Bolger-trained displayed an extraordinary work and seized the top place in the Loder European
Breeders Fund 2yo Fillies Race at Curragh.
Although she did not bag the winning cheque by a huge margin, her performance was good enough to impress the bookies. The filly is most likely to earn the highest starting price for today’s mega event.
However, it would not be a straightforward trip for the novice runner. Kissed is another dashing filly, who is determined to kiss the gold medal.
A. P. O'Brien’s trainee also made her debut on a winning note last year. Under J. P. O'Brien, the filly sealed an emphatic triumph in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 2yo Fillies Maiden at Navan. She will look
to repeat the show, but it is not going to be a child’s play for her.
Aaraas is also being considered as a powerful candidate. The three-year-old clinched his maiden victory at Navan last year, when she beat Perfect Godess by a short head’s distance in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders
Fund 2yo Maiden.
She has some good memories at Navan, but it would not matter much today. In an attempt to beat this line-up, Kevin Prendergast’s trainee will have to perform out of her skin.
According to our predictions, it is going to be a tug of war between Cleofila and Kissed. The former would attract maximum number of bets today, however, she cannot be trusted blindly, especially when Kissed in the line-up.
