Cleveland Browns LB Scott Fujita to meet Roger Goodell after Baltimore Ravens’ tie – NFL News
A much-awaited meeting between Cleveland Browns linebacker Scott Fujita and National Football League (NFL) commissioner Roger Goodell is learnt to be due this Friday after the Browns meet the Baltimore Ravens in a total American Football Conference (AFC)
North division showdown this Thursday night.
The agenda of the prospective meeting, although not officially confirmed, is none other than the infamous bounty scandal that has recently rocked the entire league, making some of the officials and players pay for their respective contributions in the illegal
hit-for-reward programme covertly operative at the New Orleans Saints.
Scott is alleged to have contributed financially to the bounty programme during his Saints’ tenure as a player which was the prime of his professional league career.
Fujita was suspended for three games as a punishment for the alleged contribution by the league office, which is overturned by a court of law and the player is back with his team since second game of the season.
Now the league’s boss as part of his meetings with all alleged perpetrators of the programme is due to meet the Browns’ linebacker, apparently to discuss the issue, although the office has not confirmed the agenda of the meeting.
The meeting was earlier postponed due to the player’s inability to meet in person. While Scott had been willing to have a video conference with Roger, the league’s office informed him on past Monday that they wanted him to meet the commissioner in person.
Now some sections of media have confirmed that meeting is rescheduled for this Friday after the player is done with this week’s game versus Ravens.
Although nothing much has been speculated around the forthcoming meeting of the player with the league’s boss, he earlier said to be very much focused to get his name cleared from this entire scandal to avoid it having any negative outfall on his family
in the longer run.
With Scott going through the problems of his own, the Browns are not in an ideal position themselves. With three consecutive losses, the team is yet looking for first win of the season and nothing seems going their way at all so far.
