Cleveland Browns QB Brandon Weeden’s improvement impresses Baltimore Ravens – NFL News
Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden’s consistent improvement has won words of praise even from the opposition circles as the player prepares to face another challenging side the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday (Nov. 04).
The QB has been improving on calling plays so much that has prompted Ravens coach John Harbaugh to rate him along the calibre of QB Joe Flacco, Andy Dalton and Ben Roethlisberger.
John said:
"I'm very impressed with him. You look at this division, there are four really good quarterbacks and that makes it a tough division. He's done a nice job of really incorporating himself into what they're trying to do offensively. It looks like he's really
smart, he's got a nice arm and he's got good poise back there.”
He added:
"He's got a really good feel for the rush and getting the ball out and those kind of things. One of the main things for a young guy is just not turning the ball over much, and he's done a good job with that."
Although the offence leader still has a long way to go in the pro career, his progress from the start of the season has been consistent towards improvement. Only problem for him is that he does not have much support from a senior tutor or coach.
He has already helped the side to two victories and has potential to lead them to a few more this season. Weeden’s performance is rather crucial for his long-term prospects with the Browns, as they are going to be in hands of new owner after the season is
over.
Independently, some commentators have started seeing the offence leader increasing the potential for learning and growth rather well, and are of the view that he can have a season better than his predecessor Colt McCoy.
The Browns ended last season with only four wins and with the season halfway through now another couple victories will put them in the same situation this year. It will depend how the QB progresses for the rest of the season.
