Cleveland Browns RB Trent Richardson aims better form vs Cincinnati Bengals – NFL News
Cleveland Browns rookie running back Trent Richardson is aiming for a better run in the game against the Cincinnati Bengals this weekend after admittedly missing the target he had set for himself in the debutant pro career tie versus the Philadelphia Eagles
on past Sunday.
Trent ended the game with only 39 rushing yards on 19 carries, but he can get away with that below-the-mark performance, given it was his first real game since undergoing a minor procedure on his knee during training camp last month.
Now he is raring to make up for loss of the opportunity in the upcoming game. He said of the forthcoming game:
"It's gonna all come together. I ain't worried about it, and we ain't worried about it."
One of the reasons behind the disappointing show-off from the prospective star player was that Eagles’ defence had stuffed him on the line and suffocated his movement, allowing him minimum space to make big plays and gains.
But as earlier said, the player himself is aware that it is nevertheless a ruined chance and he must prove his potential in the second game of the season versus the Bengals this weekend.
Trent said:
"I was kicking myself. I've gotta get up and wipe it off. I can't look backward, but I looked at that play probably two or three times and I just knew I had a touchdown or I knew I was gonna get positive yards on that play. That's not me. I got too happy.
I smelled the end zone. If I could have just reached my hand out, I felt like I was touching it. So I got too excited. It won't happen again."
Richardson is one of the bright spots out of this season's draft. He had been impressive in his college league career and shown off the guts in the preseason phase before being required to have the arthroscopic procedure to fix a minor problem that had been
lingering since his college career days.
The Browns have set great expectations from the player and irrespective of the initial lapse he is well capable of coming back rather strongly.
