Cleveland Browns WR Mohamed Massaquoi aims for injury-free career –NFL News
Cleveland Browns’ wide receiver, Mohamed Massaquoi, finally feels hundred percent in health and fitness, ready to play uninterrupted football from the next season.
Massaquoi suffered a serious setback to his professional league career over the past two years due to multiple injury problems.
First it was concussion that kept him limited in participation in the games for almost past two seasons.
He was out of the team’s training camp last season and was also limited in the regular season after suffering a foot injury.
Now, the player is back with a bang as he is confident of his health and looks to remain consistent in his fitness and form in the future.
Mohamed made himself available for the workout activity on Wednesday and after doing some drills, he said:
"My foot feels good, my head feels good. I'm taking care of my body."
Further, he has offered to help out his team on the passing game, the department where the team is far behind other league teams.
Browns were ranked 24th in the passing yards during the 2011 National Football League (NFL) season and the managers have welcomed the WR’s return and help offer.
Coach, Pat Shurmur, and president, Mike Holmgren, have posed confidence in the player’s ability to help the teammates on the passing front.
Holmgren said:
"The wild card to me is Mo. Mohamed has to come in and ... I believe in that young man. I really do. He's seen a lot of football and when he says that, you have to step up to the plate and accept the challenge."
A similar message is echoed by the coach when he said:
"I expect a lot from him and he expects a lot from himself.”
Massaquoi’s support on passing game will be a great help for the team, well within the fast changing pattern of the professional football game.
A number of teams now focus on the passing game, offering more and more cushion to their quarterbacks.
Browns are among the few sides that lack strength in passing, which they now look to work on.
