Cleveland Browns’ injured Peyton Hillis to sit out another week – NFL News
Cleveland Browns will enter into week 11 of the regular season of the American Football league, National Football League (NFL), without their two starters who are likely to miss out this week's game, at least, due to multiple injuries.
Peyton Hillis, Browns' running back and T.J. Ward, safety, will miss out their fifth and second straight games, respectively, since their injuries. Both the players for sure will not be available for this week's game with the possibility
that they might sit out for even a longer period of time. This will be depending on the progress they make in the recovery of their injuries.
Coach Pat Shurmur said that Hillis had been ruled out for the coming weekend's game despite that his injury has improved to some extent. The Browns will host Jacksonville Jaguar in one of their important NFL ties in the coming
week.
The coach expressed the optimism that Hillis would be available at some point of this season, and that they did not have plans to put him on the injured reserves list until then.
"Peyton's making progress and so we're hopeful he can be back after next week, hopefully, we'll see," he said.
The Browns are also not sure about the T.J.Wards’ participation. He is not available for this week at least. He hurt himself in the last game against Houston Texans. He has been in a cast since then.
Shurmur said that Wards would have the cast removed and that further tests would be carried out on him to determine state of his injury and his chances of participation in the game.
Meanwhile the coach said that Browns wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi was improving considerably well. Massaquoi has missed last two games due to concussion, he suffered on October 23.
"He's feeling better," Shurmur said. "He's been asymptomatic for a couple days now, so we'll just see. We're going to be very careful with that."
He sat out this week due to his injury, however, was cleared for the game against Houston Texans. Despite taking an active part in starting quarter he left the game apparently feeling uncomfortable. He had also been sent home twice
in the following week before the team's practice sessions with his injury bothering him again.
Although Shurmur did not say anything about bringing in of the replacement, it is expected that all the injured players will be replaced with a couple reshuffles in the positions. However, a long term solution will only be determined
after the next week given the improvement made by the injured players.
