Cleveland Cavaliers concede six in a row; Lose 79-86 to the Philadelphia 76ers: NBA Recap
Evan Turner had a huge game with 19 points, 9 assists and 6 rebounds as he led the Philadelphia Sixers to an 86-79 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Wells Fargo Center, their second home win in a row.
Jrue Holiday was hot again with 14 points and 9 assists; Spencer Hawes added 14 points and hauled down 9 rebounds while Nick Young came off the bench to score 13 points, going 5 out of 6 from the floor, before leaving with dizziness
in the fourth quarter.
Alonzo Gee led the Cavaliers with 17 points while Tristan Thompson and Anderson Varejao both had a double-double.
The Sixers were up 5-2 early before an 8-0 run capped off by a Dion Waiters shot from downtown put the Cleveland up by 10-5. A Tristan Thompson dunk had the Cavaliers leading at 15-12 before Dorell Wright dropped a three pointer
for the Sixers to tie the score at 17. It was all square on 19 again when Kyrie Irving made a buzzer beating jumper to put the Cavs up 21-19 by the end of the period.
C.J. Miles knocked down a three pointer for the Cavaliers to put them ahead 24-19, before the Sixers snatched the lead with a 6-0 run going up 25-24. The game remained close in the ensuing passage. Young knocked down a three pointer
to make it 31-32 for the Sixers; Later on, a Gee layup made it one point game at 38-37 for the Cavaliers. Hawes’ free throws near the end of the period had the Sixers up 43-42 by halftime.  
A Jason Richardson layup early in the third period tied the score at 49. Later on, Irving made a layup to make it 53-54 for the Cavaliers. The Sixers started pulling ahead towards the end of the period though and a dunk shot by
Young put them up 61-55. They went into final period leading 62-57.
A Thompson jumper cut the deficit down to 59-62 early in the fourth quarter before Sixers scored 7 quick points, going up 69-59.  The Cavs responded with a 5-0 run to slash the deficit down to 64-69. A Tyler Zeller layup made it
a 2 point game at 71-73 but the Phillies did not panic. They started putting distance between themselves and the Cavaliers and a Hawes three pointer put them up 82-75, with 2:16 left on the clock. The hosts took this 7 point advantage all the way, winning
by 86-79 in the end.
