Cleveland Cavaliers looking forward to clinch victory against the Indiana Pacers
The game between Indiana Pacers and Cleveland Cavaliers will take place on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm at the Conseco Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, IN. The Indiana Pacers recently returned back home after defeating the Miami Heats on Nov. 22, 2010 in a very fiery
game against them. They went back with a big victory over the very dangerous Miami Heat 93-77.
The Cavaliers have lost four of the last five games that they have played and will try to come out of that shell the upcoming game against Indiana.
The Pacers who have a (6-6) win loss record will be eager to get the better of the Cavaliers knowing their past 5 game record. Although they lost their last match against the Orlando Magic on Saturday, they did regain control of their toll on Saturday against
the Miami Heat. They forced Dwyane Wade, the star of Miami Heat, to score only 1 of 13 from the field making it his career worst score.
“(The Miami Heat) have been anticipating doing a lot of things before the season even started so to get the win on the road, this is a big win for us,” The Pacers forward Danny Granger later said. “It was a really good team effort on the defensive
end.”
Danny Granger and Brandon Rush were amongst the players who led the Pacers by adding 20 points to the box score.
Rush had a previous season high of 16 points and he later said, “It is definitely a momentum builder for us.”
The Cleveland Cavaliers (5-7) have faced a number of defeats at hands of different teams this season. They suffered two consecutive defeats, first at the hands of New Orleans 108-101 and then San Antonio 116-92 on Saturday.
The Cavaliers forward Antawn Jamison was very open hearted about these defeats and said, “We wanted to use these two games as a measuring stick,” He later added, “We showed signs, but it's just not consistent 48 minutes.”
Perhaps the main reason behind the defeat of the Cavaliers in the previous games was their poor defense. Apart from focusing on their ability to improvise their scoring they'll need to shift attention towards their defense as well.
Granger has an average of 21.2 points this season and he scored 36 points in their last season game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Cleveland does have an edge over the Pacers having won six games out of seven in Indianapolis. When they last visited the Pacers they limited them to 33.7 percent shooting. Granger was reduced to 13 points when they defeated the Pacers 94-73 on Jan. 29.
