Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Detroit Pistons: NBA Preview
The Cleveland Cavaliers finished off their last two regular seasons with the league best record; however things have turned out to be entirely different for the team this time. With the departure of their prolific superstar LeBron
James, the winning touch of the Cavaliers also departed. So much so, that the Cavs are on the verge of ending up as the league’s worst team this season.
On Monday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers will take on the Detroit Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills in attempt to avoid the infamy of the league’s worst team. The Pistons are leading the season series, 2-1.
Presently, the Cavaliers share the worst record in the league with Western Conferences’ Minnesota Timberwolves.
In their last game at the Bradley Center on Saturday night, the Cavs put up a spirited fight but failed to overtake the Milwaukee Bucks. Baron Davis landed a team-high 19 points that night but the Cavaliers fell short in overcoming
a huge deficit in the second half of the game. John Salmons had an impressive scoring night and racked up a game-high 32 points to spearhead Milwaukee for a magnificent 108-101 victory.
The Cleveland Cavaliers holds the 15th seed in the Eastern Conference with only 17 victories and 63 defeats. After winning two straight games last week, things started to look a bit rosy for them. However, they have
dropped two straight and are now looking down the barrel again.
Detroit Pistons, on other hand haven’t had the best of seasons themselves. However, they will be setting foot on the court with the confidence of three successive wins. The team is left with two games in the regular season and
will be fully determined to end the season on a high note.
The Pistons are currently standing at the 11th spot in the same Conference with 29 wins and 51 defeats. The team however carries a good record at their home court with 21 victories and it will be a challenge for the
Clevelander to usurp the Pistons in their own backyard.
