Cleveland Golf signs sponsorship deal with Executive Women’s Golf Association
Cleveland Golf has signed a sponsorship deal with Executive Women's Golf Association and it will sponsor all of EWGA’s four Sunday Fun Day events in the current 2011 season.
Pam Swensen, Chief Executive Office of the EWGA confirmed the news regarding the deal in a press conference in Florida. He said, “Cleveland Golf is an excellent partner and presenting sponsor for the EWGA Sunday Fun Days that we are introducing this year.
These events extend the camaraderie of our semi-final competitions, connecting more women throughout the association and familiarizing them with all of the Cleveland brands.”
Apart from sponsoring the competitions, Cleveland Golf will organise the EWGA Golfpalooza, which is an annual conference that takes place every year at Amelia Island from 13 – 16 April. The conference is attended by more than 400 female golfers yearly and
in 2011, it will celebrate its 20th anniversary at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort.
According to Swensen, the EWGA Sunday Fun Days will take place at Saddlebrook Resort, Horseshoe Bay Resort, Independence Golf Club and Palouse Ridge Golf Club starting from 24
June to 28 August.
Moreover, with Cleveland’s presence, the purse allocated for the events will go up and this will help in attracting more players to the field.
EWGA had been looking for a sponsor for the past year. Jilayne Lovejoy, Product Manager of the Women’s Category at Cleveland Golf, was present at the conference. She said that Cleveland was looking forward for a long relationship with EWGA and added that
EWGA had an immense contribution in promotion of the sport and Cleveland reckoned their work.
EWGA started its operations in 1991 and since then, it has supported more than 100,000 golfers.
Cleveland has been playing a great role in spreading the support and local talent in the region. In past, it has been involved in Professional Golf Association Tour events and had several golfers endorsed.
With the confirmation of the sponsor, EWGA has opened its registrations for the players.
