Cleveland Indians’ Grady Sizemore to still play in 2012 MLB season – MLB News

The Cleveland Indians veteran outfielder Grady Sizemore, who is still suffering from after effects of his micro fracture surgery, has still no confirmation that he will play again in a short while.

However, some news sources have speculated in the media that his return is possible in the next month.

Recently, speaking to the media, Sizemore has also explained about the possibilities of his return. He said, "I still love this game and don't see myself calling it quits anytime soon, Nothing is going to happen before June because of where I'm at [in his rehab schedule], I don't know if they really know when I'll be back. We change the program from week to week depending on how I feel. Still, I'm shooting for sometime in June.”

He added, “I don't know if anything is set in stone. It all depends on how the body responds and each progression. When I visualize, I see myself out there next month, Things can change, anything can happen.”

Sizemore is a talented player, but in 2010, just playing total 33 games of Major League Baseball season, he had to go for micro fracture surgery while since then, he has not recovered fully to finish any season.

Later, though he made a drastic comeback in 2011, but another serious injury during the season further added the misery as he is still trying to recover from the repercussions of back-to-back injuries.

In the meanwhile, looking at his career performances, the baseball experts always rate him high among his contemporaries.

With consistent hitting average of .269 along with 139 home-runs, 458 RBIs and .357 OBP, certainly puts him competitive.

On the other hand, some recent speculations also alarmed many of his fans that the Indians management has decided to release him due to his recent condition of not been able to play injury free, but now those speculations have died down. Recently, he and the Tribe’s top management signed a fresh contract worth $5 million which will allow him to show this season his extraordinary playing capabilities at the highest level. It will be interesting to see what impact Sizemore will have for the Indians when he finally gets back to the action.
