Cleveland Indians batter Chicago White Sox 4-3 – MLB Recap
Cleveland Indians’ defeated the Chicago White Sox 4-3 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Tuesday, September 25 at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago.
Indians’ played as one unit and rattled the White Sox with great determination. They took an early lead in the game and eventually won in style.
"We knew it wasn't going to be easy, (Detroit is) not going to go away. They'll keep playing hard. All we can do now is hope Kansas City wins and if they don't, we'll be tied with eight games to go," catcher A.J. Pierzynski said about the team’s performance.
Indians’ upfront batting line-up did well on the plate and earned a great victory.
"Every day there's close games, Today was obviously not a step in the right direction. It was a tough game. We showed some heart to battle back. At this point of the season, you need the victories," Paul Konerko later said.
Catcher Carlos Santana showed his class as he scored one run and smashed one hit on his three at-bats. He played aggressive and maintained his slugging percentage at .433.
Russ Canzler added two runs and smashed three hits on his four outings on plate. He also ran for an important RBI and remained consistent on his .465 slugging percentage.
Left fielder Thomas Neal also played well and helped his team oust the White Sox. He added one run and one RBI on his three at-bats while he also managed to maintain his slugging percentage at .211.
Along with batters, the Indians' pitchers also did very well on the mound and outclassed the White Sox with a good performance.
Corey Kluber started the game for the Indians as he pitched seven innings and received two runs and four hits. He was hammered with two home-runs but he still managed to strike-out four on his 5.02 ERA.
Closer Chris Perez pitched the last inning with great precision as he received one run and one hit along with one homer. He showed his class with his fast pitching while he also managed to maintain his 3.46 ERA.
