Cleveland Indians battered by Texas Rangers 3-8 – MLB Recap
The Cleveland Indians were dominated by the Texas Rangers 3-8 in the third and last game of their three-match regular series encounter on Sunday, September 2 at Progressive Field in Cleveland.
"Texas is probably the best team in baseball, period, The guy hitting ninth today (Profar) could be in the middle of the order for most teams. And how do you get the ball through the infield with the guys they have playing there? They should go very deep, if not back to the World Series, again this year," Indians' manager Manny Acta said.
Rangers played brilliantly from the start of the game and edged past the Indians with ease. They played as one unit and did not give any loop-holes which eventually proved wonderful for them.
"I guess it's a pretty big thing, I was just a little bit nervous, but I'm with a lot of great players, so I just went out and played, I was thinking, 'Go, go, go, go,' after I hit it," Profar said.
Rangers’ entire roster played aggressive and rattled the Indians with great focus. They went early into the lead and slowly created some decent offensive play which provided a victory in the end.
Elvis Andrus scored one run and smashed three hits on his .390 slugging percentage. He did well on his five at-bats and proved too good for the Indians’ batters.
Designated hitter Michael Young also did well with his one run and smashed two hits on his one RBI. He was also one of the key players in the Rangers roster who earned a great victory for his team.
He batted five times and maintained his slugging percentage at .345.
Along with batters, the Rangers' pitchers also played well and proved one of the winning factors for his team.
Derek Holland started the game for the Rangers and pitched seven innings and allowed two runs on his 4.79 ERA.
He received seven hits and struck-out six on his consistent pitching.
Relief pitcher Mark Lowe also did well with his one inning spell. He received one run and smashed two hits on his 2.19 ERA.
Lowe did not strike-out any batter but he did prove one of the winning factors for the Rangers.
