Cleveland Indians beaten by Minnesota Twins 4-6 – MLB Recap
Cleveland Indians lost to the Minnesota Twins 4-6 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, September 19 at Progressive Field in Cleveland.
Twins’ entire roster did well in the field and with their extra athleticism they proved too good for the Indians.
From their starting pitcher to relievers, everyone did well on the mound and helped their team to oust Cleveland with full authority.
Liam Hendriks pitched six innings and received two runs and two hits along with a homer on his 5.88 ERA. He stood tall against the Indians' talented and experienced batters as he kept them under pressure during his entire spell.
"It took a long, long time, I could have done without the shaving cream in my eye, but I'm excited to become the 16th Australian to win a major league game," Hendriks said later in the game and explained in detail about his performance which certainly outclassed the Indians in a big way.
Later Minnesota manager Ron Gardenhire commented on his starter who literally won the game for the Twins and said, "I told him if it takes him that long to win again, the shaving cream is going to be gasoline.”
Gardenhire confidently added, "It's nice to get the young man a win, He stayed away from the big inning,”
Along with pitchers, the Twins' batters also played well and never showed any loop-holes in their game.
Josh Willingham scored one on his four hits. He also ran for four RBIs on his five at-bats while he also maintained his slugging percentage at .532.
"It has been a special year for me, To make a long story short, I wanted three years and two teams offered that, Cleveland was not one of them," said Willingham on his performance and explained in detail the different aspects of the game.
Minnesota’s other pitchers also played well and contributed in their team’s win.
Relief pitcher Alex Burnett pitched 1.2 innings and received two runs and three hits on his 3.34 ERA. He struck-out one and showed great resilience during his spell.
