Cleveland Indians’ bench coach Sandy Alomar Jr. interviews with Chicago Cubs – MLB News
The Cleveland Indians’ current bench coach Sandy Alomar Jr. has just interviewed with the Chicago Cubs’ management for a potential managerial position and is very excited to see his future as a rather more influential individual in Major League Baseball.
After having a long conversation with the Cubs’ general manager Jed Hoyer on Friday, he talked to the media and spoke confidently over his chances to become Chicago Cubs’ new manager. He explained with great detail and said, “There is a lot of gut feeling
you got to make. If you have a stat and see a flashing number and you see that this guy is doing very good against this other guy, you can use that in a game during a key situation.”
Alomar is not the first one who has been interviewed by the Cubs’ management as in-fact he was the fourth candidate including Phillies’ bench coach Pete Mackanin, Brewers’ hitting coach Dale Sveum and Rangers’ pitching coach Mike Maddux have also been given
a chance to show their leading managerial skills, on paper first.
Sandy, a former successful professional baseball player, has strong capabilities to become the Cubs’ new manager. He has strong leadership skills, not only he has learnt from his playing career but he has also developed himself as a role model after becoming
a coach in the Major Leagues especially working with the Cleveland Indians.
On the other hand, interviewing all these potential candidates advocate desperation by the Chicago Cubs, who want to appoint a new skipper as soon as possible. The Cubs’ GM Hoyer, who is personally involved in all this potential selection for a new manager
of the franchise, has shown great signs as he and his other executives are just preparing their last minute scrutiny and will be coming with a new name in next few days.
It will be interesting to see which candidate the Cubs choose to lead them in the 2012 regular season. The Cubs will be looking to get the right person to handle the job and hopefully bring about some positive changes in the squad.
