Cleveland Indians designated hitter Travis Hafner looking for a return – MLB News

The Cleveland Indians’ long time designated hitter Travis Hafner had endured several injuries since his early days in the biggest baseball league in the word, but this time around and on the verge of start of the 2012 regular season that he is feeling quite
comfortable and will be playing his potential positive role in the team’s success.
He recently has completed a full Spring Training session in Arizona’s Cactus League and now feeling much better on his last year’s condition where he got injured straining oblique foot fracture that also ruined his playing chances for over two weeks leaving
him ineffective for the entire season.
However, the ten-year veteran and former Texas Rangers player, Hafner is lately expressing his playing desires and explaining in detail as how he feels now to start a new beginning with full thrust.
Said Hafner, “Last spring I felt good coming in, I hadn’t had a completely good year with my shoulder, so I didn’t know what to expect. Now I have no concerns about anything.”
He added with more details, “I don’t think in this game you can ever say, Why me?’ You just try to get healthy and produce at a high level. If I start pouting about it, everything will snowball on me. Look at video from 2005 and 2006, when I was at my best
mechanically and as a hitter, I go back and study that. I kind of had to.”
Hafner is no doubt a perfect player and carries a healthy batting average of .281 along with 189 home runs, 660 RBIs and .383 OBP. His over the years’ performances have been certainly commendable.
Some say from designated hitter to a role player, Hafner certainly has developed himself into a total package and still is in evolving phase. He is a special kind of player who does not remain in the limelight just to show his own abilities, but he is one
of those kinds of players who take the responsibility and play according to the given plan which their coaches or managers’ prepare in order to attain good results.
