Cleveland Indians dominated by Minnesota Twins 3-14 – MLB Recap
The Cleveland Indians lost to the Minnesota Twins 3-14 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Monday, August 6 at Progressive Field in Cleveland.
Indians’ played poor from start of the game and eventually lost in the end by a huge margin.
Cleveland looked tired in the field as they caught themselves under pressure despite scoring early in the very first inning.
Tribe’s pitchers and at the same time hitters did not play well and could not get the right momentum to oust the Twins. Instead, Minnesota were more determined and looked aggressive in the field.
"I asked one of my coaches to pinch me tonight because I couldn't believe it was happening again, It continues to be rough and disappointing the way we're giving up runs. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it and I don't think I'll see anything like it again," manager Manny Acta said.
Twins’ played offensive from start of the game and kept their momentum towards end and earned a good early win in the series.
On Monday, the Twins’ handed the Indians their tenth straight defeat which is a worrying sign for them as now post season qualifications are coming closer.
Regarding the performance of Twins, who rattled the Indians in their home field, was quite consistent during the entire game.
"It was incredible, really, to score 10 runs in an inning, It doesn't happen very often, He's healthy," Gardenhire said. "When you're not healthy and you're trying to go out there and you're playing with something nagging at you all the time, it's tough to play this game."
Twins’ upfront offence dominated the game early and never lost its control which proved one of the winning factors for them.
Minnesota's pitchers especially Scott Diamond played well for his team. He remained calm on the mound for seven innings and allowed seven hits along with three runs. He also received only three earned runs while striking-out three Indians’ hitters and made it possible for the Twins to take the game away with ease.
