Cleveland Indians edge Minnesota Twins 5-4 – MLB Recap

The Cleveland Indians edge past the Minnesota Twins 5-4 in the first game of their two-match regular series matchup on Monday, May 14 at Target Field, Minnesota in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
The Indians played united throughout the game and outclassed the Twins in the end.
"Especially coming off our first three-game losing streak, we blew the lead it would have hurt more. Those are the type of things that tend to carry over. It was nice that we were able to come back, especially playing on the road. It was very important to do that so that things don't start snowballing." said Indians manager Manny Acta for his team’s win.
Acta added, "It's always more important when it's a young guy that's fighting his way up here at the back of the rotation, He's pitched so well since spring training. I'm sure that this is going to be very good for his confidence."
With this win, the Indians have also ended their three-game losing streak which they suffered against the Boston Red Sox.
Twins however, came into this series tied 2-2 in an encounter with the Toronto Blue Jays.
Indians’ starter Jeanmar Gomez played well for his team and remained confident on the mound for seven innings and gave only one run, three hits and striking-out two Twins batters.
Cleveland’s manager Acta was certainly pleased from Gomez’s outing as he was the only man behind who in this particular game stood tall against the Twins’ fine batting lineup.
On the other hand, the Twins’ starter Carl Pavano proved real disaster for his team’s loss as he gave four crucial runs along with six hits, four earned runs and one homer.
The Indians kept their cool from start and never gave any loop holes to the Twins’ while hammering all the way to ninth inning where they concluded the game in style.
With this win the Indians now stand at top position in the American League Central. Their current 19-16 win-loss record is also quite progressive and if they continued their great form, the future results will be much better. It will be interesting to see how far the Indians can carry their winning momentum forward.
