Cleveland Indians finalise 2012 roster – MLB News
The Cleveland Indians’ have finalised roster for 2012 Major League Baseball season on late Sunday night adding Jairo Asencio, infielder Jose Lopez and outfielder Aaron Cunningham with clear vision of victory in the coming regular season. Indians' general manager Chris Antonetti announced and showed confidence on the chosen roster.
Indians' GM Antonetti later also explained and told the reporters about some of the changes which some experts objected upon especially about Jeremy and Ryan. He stated in the media in detail saying,
"For different reasons, they were both difficult calls with Jeremy and Ryan, Jeremy had a great camp. Among the relievers he was one of the best.”
He added, “But we have to balance all of the information we had, including prior track record, what the guys did here this spring, how we preserve depth, option status of guys. Jeremy certainly did his part in to make the decision very difficult for us. We try to mindful of that, my job is to try and put the best team on the field for Opening Day. We take a lot of things into consideration."
Indians are now sitting in a comfortable place where they should be pleased with the efforts of their manager and general manager as they adequately prepared a roster which is balanced and according to the plan.
Tribe’s owner and front office is also pleased as they know this season’s roster is well prepared. The Indians batting line-up and rotation have performed tremendously in this year’s Spring Training and now looking determined to show what capabilities they possess.
On the other hand, the Indians have also preparing to perfect their skills on the new defensive strategy. They at the moment are not very close where they can think that this is the right time to display new game plan to all the opponents.
This time around, the Indians want to win games not like last season where they poorly competed even with their own division. If the things remained consistent and worked well for the Indians, there is a high chance for the Tribe’s men to emerge as winners.
