Cleveland Indians fire hitting coach Scott Radinsky – MLB News
Reports are coming that the Cleveland Indians’ have fired pitching coach Scott Radinsky.  This is much related with the Indians’ eleven-game losing streak, but no one in the Tribe’s management has admitted that Radinsky is being fired due to this recent
losing streak.
Ruben Niebla however, has been named as an interim pitching coach.
“It’s not a decision we arrived at lightly, It’s something we spent considerable time talking through, but in the end we felt we had reached that point where we had to go in a different direction,” General Manager Chris Antonetti said recently regarding
Radinsky’s firing and various aspects which were the primary reasons why the Indians’ took this intense decision.
Antonetti added, “Certainly we were mindful as we were going through the losing streak how we were pitching at that point, At the same time we didn’t feel it was appropriate to make that decision while we were in the midst of it, because we didn’t think
Scott should bear the burden of the losing streak.”
After GM’s conversation with the reporters, Indians manager Manny Acta also appeared before media personals and told them the sensitivity of this matter.
He explained in detail that firing Radinsky was already on the cards as this is not related with Indians’ recent losing streak in the second half.
He further added that the top management had discussed in detail about with all stake holders regarding Radinsky’s job and rejected all those speculations that suggest that the Tribe’s GM has fired pitching coach due to recent losing streak.
According to some baseball experts, Radinsky is a talented coach. He spent total nine months in the Indians’ franchise after replacing then pitching-coach Tim Belcher. Before becoming the pitching coach, Radinsky spent almost two years’ as Indians’ bullpen
coach.
In the meanwhile, according to Radinsky’s some critics, who have spoken loudly in the media that during his time in the franchise, the Indians improved a lot with every aspect of their pitching but overall he did not make any drastic changes in the starting
rotation which eventually cost them on various phases of 2012 season.
