Cleveland Indians first-round pick Francisco Lindor ready for minors – MLB Update
The Cleveland Indians’ first-round-pick Francisco Lindor seems ready to play in one of the best farm systems in Major League Baseball.
Indians Minor League / farm system is considered one of the best in the MLB and now a talented prospect Lindor will unveil his skills in 2012 Minor League’s competitions.
On the other hand, this is also a healthy sign for Cleveland as their big League team has recently secured a huge position at shortstop when they gave an extension to Asdrubal Cabrera until 2014.
This is linked to Lindor’s playing potential in the Minor League as many experts are saying that his presence in the farm team will help Cleveland to build a potential back-up for their senior team as well.
Recently, Lindor has described in the media explaining confidently about his future stint with Cleveland and if got lucky, then with the senior Tribe’s team as well.
He said in detail, "The toughest part will probably be the mental side of the game. That's what every player in the minor leagues has to work on, because it's tough. It's going to be a grind, like our coach said. It doesn't really matter what round I was going to be. It could have been the 50th round. I have to go out there and prove myself, prove to the organization that I can play and let them know that they made the right decision in picking me.”
Lindor with a professional playing average of .316 for class A Mahoning Valley in just five games last year, he certainly showed the MLB scouts a full set of skills.
Experts believe that Lindor is truly a great prospect for the Indians. The Tribe’s management should look into his every detail as how can they utilise his skills into the team and gain some productive outcome from his game.
Lindor, on the other hand, still seems little reluctant to debut in the Major League. His comments suggest as he wanted to establish his game first rather going into the professional and world class playing environment without fully prepared.
