Cleveland Indians hammer Chicago White Sox 6-4 – MLB Recap
Cleveland Indians’ hammered the Chicago White Sox 6-4 in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, September 26 at U.S Cellular Field in Chicago.
White Sox could not handle the pressure and lost in the end with bitter humiliation.
"You're talking about a game lead, two-game, everything is so fragile. You talk about the momentum swings that can happen. This is one of them, the wrong way," Chicago’s first baseman Paul Konerko said about his team’s performance.     
He added, "It doesn't mean in two days it doesn't swing the other way. ... It was tough out there tonight. We didn't deserve to win that game. This is the big leagues. You got to play all nine innings; you got to play well to beat a team."
White Sox’s upfront batting line-up and pitchers disappointed with poor performances which eventually landed them a decisive series defeat.
On the other hand, Indians were quite athletic in the field and proved that they were a better side.
“We played a pretty good series, we had a lot of good at-bats today,” Indians' manager Manny Acta said.
Indians’ batters and pitchers played aggressively and rattled the White Sox with great ease.
Shin-Soo Choo scored one run and smashed one hit along with an RBI on his .436 slugging percentage.
Second baseman Jason Kipnis batted three times and added one run on a single hit along with two RBIs. He played aggressive and remained consistent on his .380 slugging percentage.
Left fielder Vinny Rottino scored one run and smashed one hit along with on his persistent .304 slugging percentage.
Along with batters, Indians' pitchers did very well and earned a great victory for their team.
Justin Masterson pitched 4.2 innings and received four runs and seven hits. He retired two while he maintained his 5.03 ERA.
White Sox’s pitchers disappointed with their performance as they did not pitch in the right areas and lost the game.
Starter Hector Santiago pitched 3.1 innings and received three runs and five hits on his consistent 3.69 ERA which proved disastrous for the Indians.
