Cleveland Indians hammer Kansas City Royals 15-4 MLB Recap
Cleveland Indians hammered the Kansas City Royals 15-4 in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Sunday, September 23 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.
"I thought he did an outstanding job for his first start, He's got all the intangibles. He fields his position. He commands the baseball. He changes speeds. He's got great composure and a great competitive nature," Royals' manager Ned Yost said.
Cleveland Indians put up huge total of 15 runs which eventually proved the winning factor for them.
"Carlos had a great day, That two-run homer was huge. It gave us the lead. I'm happy for the day he had. For a moment there, I was thinking we weren't going to have one guy with 75 RBIs on the whole team. He did it, and it looks like (Jason) Kipnis with 70 might able to do that, too," Indians' manager Manny Acta said.
Their upfront batting line-up hammered the Royals’ pitchers with enormous display of offensive hitting and earned a great victory.
Right fielder Shin-Soo Choo scored one run and smashed two hits on his five at-bats along with an important RBI. He also maintained his healthy slugging percentage at .435 and kept the Royals’ pitchers under pressure on his every at-bat.
Talented second baseman Jason Kipnis scored three runs and smashed two hits along with an RBI. He batted well on his six at-bats as his slugging percentage remained impressive at .379.
Shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera added three runs and hammered two hits along with two RBIs on his five at-bats. Cabrera is also having a great season as he completed 61 total RBIs so far which is a great individual record for any of the Indians' players.
Indians' designated hitter Carlos Santana also performed wonderfully and scored three runs on his six at-bats. He smashed three hits and ran for exceptional five RBIs on his consistent .433 slugging percentage.
Though the Indians’ batting line-up did all the hard work but their pitchers especially David Huff held the Royals’ hitters with great force and helped his team to oust their opponents giving only one run on 5.2 solid innings.
