Cleveland Indians hammered by Kansas City Royals 3-6 – MLB Recap
The Cleveland Indians hammered by the Kansas City Royals 3-6 on Wednesday, May 30 in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter at Progressive Field in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Despite winning the very first game of the series, the Indians could not remain their momentum and lost back to back two games from the Royals.
Royals on the other hand, bounced back from a close defeat and won the series with quite comprehensiveness.
Coming into this game, in which the Indians were carrying home advantage, the Royals played as one unit and in the end, took the game as well as the series.
"It's time to forget about the streak," "We've played really good baseball from that point on and we're going to continue to get better. That just shows you our offense right now, They keep getting after it even with nobody on and two outs. That's a good
sign." Kansas City manager Ned Yost said with jubilation.
On the other hand, the Indians manager Manny Acta was not happy on his team’s effort as he said, "This was not a good series, the week continues to be rough for us. Pitching sets the tone, and we aren't setting the right one. The day off comes at a perfect
time. We all need to go home and relax, and come back and play better baseball on Friday."
Royals’ starter Bruce Chen pitched well for his team. He remained confident on the mound for five innings as he finished with three runs receiving seven hits and three earned runs.
While the Indians’ starter Jeanmar Gomez allowed five important runs which proved lethal in their 3-6 defeat.
In the meanwhile, with back to back two wins, the Royals have improved their position from fifth to fourth in the American League West Division.
Experts believe that this is a healthy sign for Kansas City as they are improving with every game. Though currently the Royals are not in position to grab post season spot, but if they kept their momentum going, they have a fair chance to qualify into the
post season.
