Cleveland Indians humiliated by Minnesota Twins 2-7 – MLB Update
Cleveland Indians were dominated by the Minnesota Twins 2-7 at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Monday, September 10 in the finale of their four match series.
Starting pitcher Justin Masterson was hit hard in his six plus innings of start as he gave up seven hits and six runs to take his 13th loss of the season. There is no denying the fact Masterson has some great throwing skills but the starter will
be looking to bring some consistency in his results to cement his place on Indians’ big league roster.
Carlos Santana hit a sacrifice fly to centre in the sixth inning to level the score 1-1 for the Indians. Third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall also displayed some top quality hitting skills with a solo home-run to right in the seventh inning but Minnesota used
their home conditions absolutely brilliantly to wrap up an impressive series victory.
"He knows he's making a good impression on the coaches and the team, and just keep playing the way he's playing, and he feels a lot of confidence he's going to be back next year," second baseman Alexi Casilla said of Samuel Deduno who made quick work of
Indians’ batting line-up.
"We couldn't do anything against Deduno," Indians’ manager Manny Acta said. "He had a good slider and he threw it at any time in the count, and we couldn't do much against him."
Indians will be extremely disappointed with the outcome of the game. After making a strong start to the series, they ended up losing it. Twins crushed their opponents 3-0 in Game 2 and they continued their excellent work in Game 3 to take 2-1 lead in the
series.
Manager Manny Acta will be extremely disgusted with his teams’ effort after the All Star Break. The skipper will be looking to make some changes in the batting and pitching line-ups to turn things around in the next season.
With their win on Tuesday evening, the Twins also improved their record to 59-82. Although Ron Gardenhire and company are out of the playoffs race, they will be certainly looking to end the season on a strong note to give their fans something to cheer about.
