Cleveland Indians lose to Kansas City Royals 2-8 – MLB Update
The Cleveland Indians lost to Kansas City Royals 2-8 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Tuesday, May 29 at Progressive Field in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
With this win, the Royals have tied the series 1-1 as in the previous game, the Indians edge past them with 8-5 hammering while this is a very healthy sign for Kansas City who now possess great chance to take away the series as well.
Going into this particular game, the Royals were already showing some great energy while as soon as they approached Progressive Field, they looked even more enthusiasts and started off well.
They took early lead in the first inning and kept their hold on Tribe’s batters. Though later in bottom first, the Indians levelled the score, but could not stop the Royals’ offence that in the very later inning started a great run and made five runs which
and eventually proved fatal for Cleveland as they lost with bitter humiliation of 2-8.
Royals’ starter Will Smith was the main man behind who carried his team’s offence forward and never allowed the Indians to play him easy.
"I'm very clean, and very happy. It's just awesome," said Smith, "An amazing feeling. You think of what it will be like your whole life. Just getting to the big leagues, and then to win? It's a dream come true. I just got mad and went after them. It sure
helps when your offense puts up some runs. I can't thank them enough."
In his 6.0 innings’ spell, he gave only two runs and received four hits. Striking out five Indians batters, Smith literally gave no chance to any of his opposing hitters to score easily.
Later Royals manager Ned Yost for Smith whose performance earned his team great victory, "It was real shaky, so much so that I had (Vin) Mazzaro warming up, If it gets to four (runs), I'm getting him. I didn't want to do it.”
In the meanwhile, this win certainly gave the Royals a positive boost which will definitely help them in the remaining games to come.
