Cleveland Indians lose to Minnesota Twins 3-6 – MLB Recap
The Cleveland Indians lost to Minnesota Twins 3-6 in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Sunday, June 3 at Progressive Field in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
With this win, the Twins also won the series 2-1. This win has also given the Twins a good opportunity to improve their record in American League Central where at the moment they are at bottom with mere 20-33 win loss record and .377 winning percentage.
Twins, throughout the game, played as one unit and never gave the Indians’ any chance to take control of the game.
From batting prowess to their pitching rotation, everybody in the Twins roster played certainly well and gave their team a deserted win which is also a very healthy sign in their coming games.
Designated hitter Joe Mauer played brilliantly for the Twins as he made important single and RBI in the first and third inning.
"Hopefully I'll be back in there soon, They (trainers) assured me I'm day to day. I fouled a pitch back and felt it, It was barking pretty good, so I got some ice on it." said Mauer with confidence about his recent outing.
"We manufactured some runs, but missed the ball a few times and let them back in the game, Every time they got close, we were able to score and get that lead back." Minnesota manager Ron Gardenhire also said for his team’s combined effort which helped them
tale away the series.
Indians manager was not happy on his team’s effort as later in the game he also commented in the media on his team’s poor performance, "Not a good homestand, especially when you win the first game of both series and you're not able to win another ballgame,
we continue to struggle as a team.” Manny Acta said.
Despite the loss, the Indians are in quite firm position to go into the post season as leaders behind the White Sox as Detroit Tigers are not looking in great touch.
The Indians at the moment at second position in American League Central with 28-25 win loss record along with .528 winning percentage.
