Cleveland Indians lose to Minnesota Twins 5-7 – MLB Recap
The Cleveland Indians lost to Minnesota Twins 5-7 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Tuesday, August 7 at Progressive Field in Cleveland.
Indians’ who have lost the second straight game from the Twins in this particular series, but overall it was their eleventh consecutive defeat in the second half of the regular season.
Again on Tuesday, they did not show any impressive play and lost in the end. Though their hitters were able to score some runs but still it was not enough for them to win the game.
"It took a bad hop and obviously, an unfavorable bounce off my wrist, When he hit it, it started out foul and kicked a couple of times," Kotchman said on his team’s performance.
Later Indians' manager Manny Acta and explained about his team’s different aspects, "When it's going bad, that's what happens, That's the way the ball bounces and it's not bouncing right in any way, shape or form."
Twins’ however, remained more consistent during the entire game and eventually won in the end with a huge honour.
Playing well early in the game, the Twins’ batters kept the Indians’ under pressure and rattled them with force.
"We got some breaks tonight and had a couple of things go our way, but we kept battling, To put together a ninth inning like that against a guy who throws pretty d**n hard like Perez, it was a good day for the ballclub," Twins' manager Ron Gardenhire said later in the game.
Especially starter Samuel Deduno did well on the mound for the Twins as he allowed four runs and four earned runs along with five hits. He remained calm on the mound and struck-out three Indians’ batters on his 3.27 ERA.
Relief pitcher Jeff Manship supported his team-mate and starter Deduno with his two innings spell in which he allowed one run and one earned run along with two hits. He also struck-out four and proved one of the winning factors for the Twins.
Closer Tyler Robertson also played tremendously and pitched two innings without any run.
