Cleveland Indians lose to New York Yankees 1-7 – MLB Recap
The Cleveland Indians lost to New York Yankees 1-7 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Monday, June 25 at Yankee Stadium in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
The Tribe’s men did not play well and lost the game with a big margin. Allowing the Yankees a healthy six run lead, the Indians fell short as they just could not get the right momentum and lost the game in the end.
Yankees, on the other hand, played combined as one unit. They showed true spirit in their game and eventually won in style.
Second baseman Robinson Cano performed brilliantly and proved one of the winning factors for the Yankees.
He made three RBIs on four at-bats along with one run on two hits. He stayed calm on the plate and hit with enormous power.
"It feels good. Everything is connecting," said Cano.
Hiroki Kuroda, Nick Swisher and Dewayne Wise also played well and earned a great victory for their team.
"Everything's just real chill right now, everything's just real mellow. We're having a good time. You can always debate whether winning causes fun or fun causes winning, I feel like we have both of that right now, and when we come to the ballpark we feel we're going to be successful every single day. And it's just a great feeling to have right now." Swisher said in detail about his team’s different winning aspects.
Yankees' manager Joe Girardi was also happy as his team played well and got a welcome win in the series. Later in the game several reporters asked him plenty of questions about Cano’s brilliant play while he gave answers with confidence, "You can hold him down for a while, but he's going to get hot."
Indians' manager Manny Acta did not look like he was in a great mood when he spoke to the media and told them that their pitching rotation was not accurate as they performed poorly.
Indians’ pitching was certainly not accurate. Especially Josh Tomlin did not play well as he was hammered for six runs in three innings and eventually proved lethal for his team as they lost with bitter humiliation.
