Cleveland Indians outfielder Michael Brantley starts encouragingly – MLB News
The Cleveland Indians outfielder Michael Brantley is playing quite impressive in this year’s Major League Baseball season with an inspiring hitting average leaving all his teammates behind on the grounds of upfront performance.
Coming off with a tremendous Spring Training in Arizona, the three year veteran Brantley at the moment is showing his great talents. With a consistent hitting average of .205, Brantley is certainly giving hard time to opponent pitchers.
“It was the first 17 at-bats of hopefully 600, you always want to start off great, but it doesn't always work that way. It really is a weird game, baseball is so fun. That's why I love it. My job is to get on base for the guys behind me, the more times I
get on base, the better chance we have to win. It means our No. 2, 3 and 4 guys are coming up, and they can swing it.” said Brantley for his own game.
Brantley started his professional baseball career in 2009 from the Indians platform and since then playing a balanced game for them. His career hitting average is still consistent at .263 along with 10 homers, 83 RBIs and .314 OBP and experts believe that
if he remained consistent with his performances in the near future as well, there is quite a possibility that he will become the ace hitter of Tribe.
On contrary to Brantley’s recent good and balanced performances, the Indians skipper Acta is showing great support for his future outings. Acta also believes that the kind of player Brantley is, he will need little time to distinguish his game with the other
teammates of his who are yet to adopt an aggressive game plan for the current Major League season.
Acta said linking Brantley with other players, “It's something we started doing last year; we just want to worry about each guy having a quality at-bat.”
In the meanwhile, this is a good sign for the Indians management and at the same time for the Indians current roster which also believes in Brantley’s talents and appreciating how well he is playing in this ongoing season.
