Cleveland Indians retain manager Manny Acta until 2013 MLB season – MLB News
The Cleveland Indians are reported to have retained manager Manny Acta until the 2013 MLB season. The Indians decided to exercise the club option after the team put a relatively outstanding show in finishing the season.
There was a general consensus, shared by both the management and players coupled with all the fans, that the performance of the Indians exhibited this season would not come to pass were it not for Manny Acta.
The report that Manny Acta will be part of the team until 2013 came on Thursday, September 29, when the general manager of the Cleveland Indians laid emphasis and reposed his confidence in the managerial responsibility of Manny Acta. The general manager
stated that Acta will be able to take the team to another level in the upcoming years.
"When we reflect back," Antonetti said, "and look at the successes we've had this year and the progress we've made, I think it began with Manny and his coaching staff and the tone that they set in Spring Training, the expectations about winning and transitioning
from a young team that was developing to a contending team.”
Indians finished 14th in the MLB ranking leaving behind teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers and Washington Nationals. They were constantly in competition with the likes of Toronto Blue Jays and the San Francisco Giants who had won the last World
Series.
If nothing else, their ability to rise to the second spot in the American League Central was a testament to their ever improving performance. This came in the face of several injuries that were predicted to wreck havoc on the general composition of the team.
However, with the guidance of Manny Acta and the teamwork on the display by the players, the team is now all braced to show their brilliance in the offseason.
With Acta being the most positive influence out there, Antonetti believes that the team will continue to grow and touch new peaks of success. The management, players and fans will be looking to Acta to lead them to success in the next MLB regular season.
