Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Trevor Bauer confident ahead of next season – MLB Update
The Cleveland Indians have made some serious and bold decisions in this offseason. Their management added some of the best hitting combinations to build up a new offensive thrust which will try to bring consistent results.
Along with hitting prowess, the Indians have added some of the most talented pitchers as well. Trevor Bauer is one of them. He last played for the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2012 Major League Baseball season.
“He just had a really tough year with his teammates,” Diamondbacks president Derrick Hall told USA Today.
However, since he has been traded into the Cleveland Indians franchise, he is speaking openly about his new role in the Tribe.
“Look, I’m not that big, I’m not that strong. I’m not fast. I’m not explosive. I can’t jump. I wasn’t a natural-born athlete. I was made,” the 6-foot-1, 185-pound Bauer told a reporter last year.
“We can find a middle ground, I’m constantly evolving. People make me out to be a guy who says it’s my way or the highway, and it’s not that way at all,” Bauer told one reporter and explained about his game.
In this recent past season, he went achieving 6.06 ERA along with 1-2 win-loss, 17 strikeouts, 1.65 WHIP. Looking at his these stats, experts believe that he has still many years to play. He is just 21-year old and with almost very less Major League experience,
he has many areas to improve.
Currently he is being energetic and telling the media with confidence to play a more vital role for the Indians in the upcoming Major League season.
On the other hand, though the Indians have this young and persistent pitcher, they have also some other good and experienced pitchers in the roster, who will carry forward the franchise’s burden in the next season.
Next year, Bauer might get a chance to pitch along side with Indians experienced starter Justin Masterson. Masterson, who possesses four-year Major League Baseball experience, is certainly a good pitcher and won many games for the Indians.
Last season, Masterson pitched with consistency and achieved 4.93 ERA along with 11-15 win-loss, 159 strikeouts, 1.45 WHIP.
