Cleveland Indians succumb to New York Yankees 4-5 – MLB Update

The Cleveland Indians defeated by New York Yankees 4-5 in the third and last game of their three-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, June 27 at Yankee Stadium in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Cleveland had already lost the series when they were ousted in the second game, but still they came to Yankees’ home field for third game in order to regain some lost pride.
However, after nine innings’ play, the Yankees narrowly escaped with a one run deficit and gave the Tribe’s men a humiliating 3-0 series defeat.
"If we have to score some runs, we'll score some runs," Yankees' manager Joe Girardi said.
Yankees played combined and won in style. The entire roster stood tall against the Indians and kept them under pressure.
Yankees’ some senior players performed exceptionally well and earned a great victory for their team.
"I wanted to go out and pitch Friday, but it's early in the season and I want to be healthy.” Yankees' pitcher Sabathia said.
Alex Rodriguez, Robinson Cano, Mark Teixeira, Raul Ibanez all scored runs and played a key role in the Yankees win.
Yankees' starter Andy Pettitte also did very well in his four innings spell in which he received two runs on three hits. Striking-out seven batters, he remained calm on the mound as his 3.22 ERA proved one of the winning factors for the Yankees.
Indians’ starter Ubaldo Jimenez could not play well and received four runs on four hits. He also received four earned runs as his ERA rose to 4.69 ERA.
"I think today was a good sign, We were able to hang in there, the guys were able to score a couple runs. We lost the game, we lost the series but we still have a long way to go." Jimenez said
Cleveland manager Manny Acta was not happy when he spoke to the media about his team’s poor effort which did not work well. He said, "We battled hard up until the end but we still fell short, We player better, better baseball today. I really liked the at-bats, especially at the end."
The Indians will be looking to improve their performance and become competitive as they try to build up some winning momentum. Yankees will be happy as they managed to dominate the Indians and take the series.
