Cleveland Indians’ trying to stay atop – Indians Update
Reports are coming in the media that the Cleveland Indians are preparing well for the upcoming event in the Major League Baseball and looking upbeat to play against some of the fiercest opponents in their own division as well.
Currently the Indians are busy in 2012 MLB Spring Training in Arizona and playing well in the first round of practice games. The entire team is looking as one unit and making some desperate measures to improve their results next season.
The Indians’ manager Manny Acta along with general manager Chris Antonetti are both seeing the positive sides of the franchise and giving confidence to all 40 individuals who will be playing during the whole next season.
Lately the Indians’ first baseman Matt LaPorta has spoken in the media and told them regarding the energy level, he and his team feeling at the moment before going into a new season.
Matt LaPorta, “There's always an opportunity wherever you're at, it's just a matter of that door opening up. I didn't have any thoughts on it as to whether it was good or whatever, I can't control that.”
He added with confidence “My goal is to get better every day and help the ball club out anyway I can. I'm just going out every day trying to get better and help the ballclub out anyway I can, I can't think about that or want this or that, I just have to go out and try to get better every day.”
So far the Indians are doing well in Spring Training, but as soon this month-long practice matches will go ahead, the Indians’ roster will further improve their results. Last Saturday when the Indians played against the San Diego Padres, at first, they were in commanding position and going smooth, but in the end, they lost 5-2 leaving little scars on their late preparations. Even in that particular, the Indians pitchers performed well and did not show any extra loop holes instead accepted defeat with big heart. Experts believe that if this constant hard work of Cleveland Indians continued, the results will be very different than the last year’s final standings.
