  2. the gradient of a resistance graph?

eek, i sat my physics GCSE less than four months ago, and got an A* but remember hardly anything haha.

if its a linear graph, then the resistance is constant.

the gradient of the graph is how much resistance?

  3. gradient = rate of change

  4. Below is a site that gives answers to every question.  Good luck!

  5. If y=xn, then

log y =nlogx and n indicates the power in the power function.

If one has a set of data [x,y] and if a plot of logy vs logx yields a straight line or one reasonably so, then the slope (gradient) of the line reveals the power relation between x and y

  6. As has been said, it's a rate of change.  In your particular problem, it will show you how the resistance changes as a function of cross-section.  If the gradient is positive, then it means that the resistance increases as the cross-section increases.  If the gradient is negative, then the resistance decreases as the cross-section increases.  A high gradient means there's a very strong dependence.  A low gradient, not so much.  A horizontal line (gradient = 0) means that resistance does not depend on cross-section.

  7. The gradient of the graph is the integrated function of the line of best fit. It is calculated by dividing the change in the y value (ie the difference between the max and min values on the vertical axis), divided by the change of the x value (ie the difference between the max and min values on the horizontal axis). It symbolises the rate of change of the value on the y axis, with respect to the value on the x axis. For example, if velocity is on the y axis, and time is on the x axis, then the gradient symbolises the rate of change of velocity with respect to time, or in other words, the acceleration.

  8. The gradient is the rate of change
