HELP !!! Why is my OPK saying im ovulating when im on my periods?;

I tested my ovulation predictor kit before just for the h**l of it, its called ''OvuPlan'' its a saliva testing so it comes up with ferns, not the urine testing ones, & mine is re useable for 2yrs & when i tested it had some ferns & i dont know why, but its weird cause i also tested 3days before my periods a few days ago & also still had ferns, so im wondering whats the length of getting positive with an ovulation predictor? could it just be that my saliva still has a bit ovulation showing in it? ive heard that ovulation predictor kits can also detect pregnancy & heard that some woman so get their periods when they are pregnant but i have a 2yr old son & i didnt get my periods at all during pregnancy? whats going on? & what is the explination for this situation? im confused :S

Yes you're right, you can get ferning when you're pregnant because the estrogen levels go up then too. It's possible that you had a chemical pregnancy which wasn't fully viable, so that's why your period then came. But the only way to know is to do a pregnancy test. Many women bleed during pregnancy (20-30% according to the APA) and also remember that every pregnancy is different. So what happened last time isn't a reliable indicator because your hormones have changed so much since the start of your last pregnancy. Def. do a test if you're still worried.
