I have a 7 weeks old baby and I'm breastfeeding her. Everything was okay and great except for this last week shes been making this clicking sound when nursing on the right side. The left side is okay but every time she drinks on the right side there seems to be a problem. Can anybody help me find a solution for this?and why on one side?

  1. I have to disagree with the above answers.  I've been told and it has been my experience, that when you hear the clicking, your baby is getting too much milk on that side... its a side effect of a fast let down.

  2. My son used to do this too. It's most likely because she's having to suck harder because your milk supply on that side is lower. Try offering her the right side first for every feeding and then the left. That should raise you supply pretty quickly.

    Good Luck & God Bless!

  3. Exactly what they said above!  My prenatal instructor said it is very important to let the baby feed equally on both sides so the milk production is the same.  So you should switch sides every feeding.

  4. You are producing less milk on that side.
