Cliff Diving at Devil's Den in Easton,Connecticut

Hey, my friends and I went to devil's den today in search of the cliff diving spot as seen on numerous videos on youtube. We treked for miles and were unable to find it. Can anyone give me directions on how to get to the spot either by the trails you took or a road that we could park on that is close to the jump off spot. Anyone with help will get best answer and it will be greatly appriciated. Thx

  1. I've been going there my whole life. It's great!

Trouble is - everyone calls is Devil's Den, which is actually a nearby state park with no cliff diving. The place you're looking for is called Devil's Glen. On any summer Saturday afternoon you'll see calls full of teenagers lost and asking "hey man, where's Devil's Den?" and then when they get to the state park they're really confused.

Take the Newtown Turnpike (RT 53) into Weston. If you're heading from the Westport area, take a right onto Godfrey Rd. East. (if you took a left that would take you to the state park). If you're heading from the Newtown area, reverse that.

Take a right onto Valley Forge Rd. - you'll see the resoviour right infront of you when you do this.

Pass the dam on the left, keep going down the hill. Go over a short concrete bridge and then you'll see some parking on your left. Park there (facing the opposite way, I know it's strange but they'll ticket you if you're parked facing oncoming traffic). And then walk down the road (away from the bridge) keeping the river on your right. You'll see a nice cliff on your right, pass that one (can't jump there), go to the next good cliff.

Now, it's illegal to jump here because teenagers always try to impress their friends by doing stupid stuff and end up hitting a rock and getting themselves seriously jacked up - then the parents want to sue the city and so cops occasionally clear people out of there, but are pretty lax about it all in all.

Don't dive head first, don't do back flips, don't be an idiot. Aside from stupidity, you'll be fine. Been going there since I was like 11 years old. Oh, and the water can be REALLY COOLLLDD!!!

    Have a blast.
