Cliffords Reprieve to buck up in the Tandridge Handicap on 2nd March at Lingfield
The Class 5 Tandridge Handicap is to be held on Friday, 2nd March at Lingfield over five furlongs. The ten runners who are participating will battle for the finishing line in order to get entitled to the £2, 386 purse.
Cliffords Reprieve, Kheleyf’s four-year-old bay gelding out of mare Bijan, has shown remarkable improvement ever since the new blinkers came on. He has made four starts during the season and has not let the rankings duck down the third position.
The last victory that came Cliffords Reprieve’s way was during his final race of the 2011 season. He was the 4/7 favourite winner of the Download The Blue Square Bet App Median Auction Maiden Stakes on 20th December 2011 at Kempton over five furlongs.
He was sent as a 15/8 favourite in the 5% Winners’ Bonus At Bluesq.Com Handicap and ended second behind the winner Chjimes while the third place was taken by Overwhelm.
Cliffords Reprieve was the 7/2 joint favourite runner up in the Blue Square Sprint Series Round 7 Handicap (Qualifier) Division 1 on 18th February at Lingfield over six furlongs. The race was won by Waterloo Dock while the other joint favourite,
Joe Le Taxi finished ninth on the field of ten.
Cliffords Reprieve has not recorded a victory during the season and has only improved, not won ever since the blinkers so it is time that he gets back to the winning business in today’s race.
Jimmy Ryan, Orpen’s eleven-year-old bay gelding out of mare Kaysama, is in for his fourth victory since the last six starts that he has made.
The eleven-year-old won the Euromonitor Handicap on 20th July at Lingfield over five furlongs. Estonia and My Love Fajer, the 3/1 joint favourites of the race finished second and sixth on the field of eight.
Jimmy Ryan’s 2012 starts stay unbeaten as both the races came his way. He won the Dormansland Handicap on 6th January at Lingfield over five furlongs and led the field of nine by 2 ¼ lengths. Sherjawy was the runner up while Welsh Inlet finished
third after the winner.
The 11/8 favourite of the race, Royal Bajan finished seven on the field of nine.
If he wins today, Jimmy Ryan will be successful in striking a hat trick.
