  1. I am not worried about it, we will just adapt. God is control

  2. if climate change was a non-natural cycle, maybe I'd be worried, but as it is... IT'S A COMPLETE LIE AND WILL IS NOT HAPPENING!!

    *Down with Big Brother*

  3. more flooding, less plant life, more hurricanes.sea levels will rise and will flood sea level cities.and rainfall patterns will chang. also by the year 2100 the temperature will increase by 4.1 and 5.8 celcius and it just might be permenant.

  4. Probably....Go to "earth2100.tv" ABC is doing a big thing on it and they are asking viewers to summit what they think if you have time it's kind of interesting to read what they predict.

  5. Climate change is a natural thing, caused mostly by the sun.  The new fad though, is to blame it on humans who really have nothing to do with it and cannot change it.

This has always happened, as the sun goes through it's cycles.  Nothing major will occur because of it because the temperature changes are very small.

  6. I think it's a frightening consequence to excessive population.

And yes, we should reasonably expect tremendous consequences in addition to the obvious.

"...as Earth warms, higher temperatures and more common extreme heat conditions will affect human health, energy demand, water supply and demand, and agriculture.

Rising sea levels will impact coastal communities as flooding happens more often and damage from coastal storms becomes more severe.

Some regions will become much drier, while others will become much wetter, affecting agriculture, water supply, and the spread of diseases..."

  7. Its acutally not as bad as you think, especially when you consider that there are more NATURAL factors then human-caused factors. I highly doubt your SUV would have greater carbon-emissions than a volcano for one. On a related notes, volcanoes won't be much for lowering their fuel emissions. Also, has any considered that the huge fiery ball in the sky known has the 'sun' might have anything to do with it? ANY TYPE OF WARMING WILL CAUSE ICE TO MELT!! IT'S NATURAL!!!

As for good consequences, consider these.

    1. Heating costs for places like Canada and Russia will decrease.

    2. Iceland could become an economic superpower.

    3. Trading routes and shortcuts could open up where the glaciers used to be.

    4. ENVIRONMENTALISTS WON'T BE GETTING AFTER US FOR DRIVING OUR CAR OR TURNING ON A LIGHT!!!

(that last one is there to show that I care.)

  8. There is currently no evidence that man has made any significant contribution to climate change.

    Some interesting facts.

    1. During most of the past 2,000 years, the temp has been about the same or higher. Currently, we are barely over the average for the last 2,000 years.

    2. During the medieval warm period (820 – 1040 AD), Greenland supported farming. Those areas previously farmed are now covered in glaciers. Obviously the melting and reformation of glaciers is a cyclical occurrence.

    3. The earth experienced a little ice age which ended around the late 1860's or so. This is about the time man started recording temperatures. This would be like measuring a lake depth after a severe drought, then worrying about it flooding as it rose to normal levels.

    4. The earth has been warming for the last 18,000 years, since the last major glacier time period. During this time frame, the glaciers have been melting at a fairly consistent rate. Also, for most of the last 1 billion years, the earth had NO glaciers or ice coverage.

    5. The AGW theory states that CO2 is the primary driver of temperature. They arrived at this idea because they did not know of anything else which could cause it. But during the 70's and during the current decade, temperatures dropped while CO2 continued to rise. This means that natural occurrences are driving temp, not CO2.

    6. The Pacific Decadal Oscillation and sun spots provides a much better correlation to earths' temperature than CO2 levels ever have.

    7. Polar Bears are experiencing a population boom. Coke sales in the arctics are through the roof. Polar Bears have been around for thousands of years, and remember, we are only at the average for the last 2,000 years. They lived through all the previously warmer climates.

    8. Many glaciers are expanding. Even Antarctica is growing on 98% of is land mass. Only 2% is melting.

    9. There is no consensus on AGW. This was a lie that has been propagated by the media.

    10. Yes we emit CO2 into the atmosphere and it is a greenhouse gas, but, we only contribute about .28% of all the greenhouse effect. Water vapor makes up about 95% of the greenhouse effect. CO2 and other trace gases round out the greenhouse gases at about 5% for all of them. Of that 5%, only 3% is CO2, and most of that is natural. Again, our contribution to the greenhouse effect is a paltry .28%

    11. The spread of disease is not attributed mainly to temperature. If this were the case, Florida would be a giant festering disease ridden cesspool. Economic standing is the primary determining factor in the spread of disease. Poor cultures can not fight the disease or eradicate the pests like more successful nations.

    12. Natural climate disasters (hurricanes, cyclones, etc) have never been scientifically linked to global warming (whether natural or man made).

In fact, we have less hurricanes hitting the USA than earlier in the century.

And cyclones are less frequent than in the past.

  9. An ice age will soon come because of all this change... The arctic animals will die because the ice is melting. The fish in the ocean will start to go bad and our world will be chaos.

  10. Yeah don't believe in science and don't read anything about the ice caps melting at a record pace nor sit and ponder where all of that water will go.  Just blame the scientists.  And when you're done blaming them, go fill up your SUV and go to 7-11 for a Slurpee.  Leave it in your behemoth of a vehicle and go in your favorite store for a bit.  Now come back and drink what's left of your now melted Slurpee.  Do you now understand the laws of thermodynamics a little better?  Hopefully well enough to figure out the signs before us now about global warming.  How can anyone look at city skylines and deduce that humanity does not have an effect on the air quality around them is beyond me.  Just wait until the USA is bisected by water from the Great Lakes to the Gulf.  Wait a few years.  It won't take 20, either.  Then we can talk about global warming.

  11. In my experience people for whom climate change is their top priority in life are really looking for something else entirely.

I think climate change is out of the hands of humanity.

  12. Climate change is real and is human-caused.  The bad consequences are already happening----the catastrophic floods in the Midwest USA, the record number of wildfires in California that are burning NOW.  The bad consequences will only get worse as the earth heats up.  However, it is NOT out of the hands of humans to slow and eventually stop global warming if the USA acts NOW.

Scientist James Hansen told the U.S. Congress that the earth is near the tipping point of unstoppable global warming and if the U.S. doesn't take action very soon the future will be bleak.

See my blog at http://theearthblog.spaces.live.com/ for links and news reports about climate change, it's consequences and links to scientific sources, etc.

  13. No at the minute there is lots of talk in the media about the effects of global warming caused by greenhouse gases though global warming is completely natural and has happened many times in the past but  is not powered by greenhouse gases, Though some of the  problems like  floods and drought from the heat are serious but aren't goin to end the world predicted by fools on tv.

  14. other than an another ice age?  North America covered in a glacier down to the southern states... na... no consequences

  15. It's not really difficult to realize the global warming "scientists" are lying. (or just plain stupid)

They claim the polar ice caps are melting and we're in danger of worldwide flooding. They claim the average temperature is rising 1 degree every 10 years.

    Both those are partially true.

What they don't tell you is that not ALL the polar ice caps are melting. The north pole is melting, the south pole is freezing. It's balanced. The ocean level has not gone up at all....they haven't even been able to detect a 1 inch rise in ocean level despite how much they've tried.

The temperature in the NORTHERN hemisphere is rising an average of 1 degree every year....it has been for a hundred years or more. But the ancient egyptians actually noticed a similar trend, except they pointed out that every 150 years or so....the trend reversed. Why? Because the temperature in the SOUTHERN hemisphere does the opposite.

As the north's temp increases, the souths decreases, and vice versa.

Average temperatures in Australia have been declining for decades. Same with the southern portion of Africa, and south America.

The three greenhouse gases are Carbon Dioxide, Ozone, and water vapor.

NO other gases cause the greenhouse effect. Of the three, CO2 is the least effective.

    Water vapor is the strongest.

As a person speaks, he emits CO2, and Water vapor on a regular basis, making mankind (not vehicles) far more responsible for releasing greenhouse gases, so if the environmentalists want to produce less greenhouse gases.......they should SHUT THE HECK UP!
