Climate Change?

Well im in year 8 and im doing an assignment in sose about how climate change impacts antarctica,, im very informed and interested in the subject but i need some info on fossil fuels, like how they burn it and why does it impact the environment. Get back to me soon ,, Thanks =] xx

Fossil fuels are petroleum, natural gas and coal basically.  When they burn they put gasses into the atmosphere.  Other gasses like CFCs(air conditioning refrigerants) also contribute.  Most pollutants come from automobiles exhaust and factories that use petroleum products for fuel.  These pollutants trap heat in the atmosphere as they build up over the years.  This is causing the temperature to rise globally.  Please note that an overall rise in temp. is small, but devastating.  2 degrees F will cause melting of ice in the polar regions and a raising of sea level.  Eventually if not brought under control, the land masses may be under water.  Lets hope Noah builds a big arc for us all.  Good luck and God bless
