  1. Vegetation will expand its range toward the poles. The vegetation that requires cooler weather will shrink in range. Canadian wheat farmers will be happy. Reindeer herders may not.

  2. Well, lets take a look at Australia for example, no rain there for a very long time.....the effects on the vegetation speak for itself.

  3. Diseases will spread north.   A weedlike shrub that I've been trying to get rid of for years suddenly died out a few years ago.   Not just in one place, but in surrounding towns where I've seen it.    Not a bad event in itself, but what plant will go next; sugar maples, christmas tree farms?

  4. naturally, any change in the climate will cause the dominance of vegetation species that can adapt to it. for ex: if the change in climate provides less rainfall, then only drought-tolerant plants will survive hence, changing the plant cover (provided that time is not a limiting factor)

  5. A change in climate would have an effect on the world's vegetation zones.  We would see a change in the boundaries between grassland, forest and shrubland.  This change in vegetation zones could cause famine in arid areas such as Africa that depends on a certain type of crop.  The change in vegetation would cause mass movement of people away from arid regions.  This could cause huge over-crowding in towns and cities.

Ecosystems could be affected by a change in temperature.   It has been predicted that an increase in temperature would affect species composition.  Scientists also believe that up to two thirds of the world's forests would undergo major changes.  Scientists believe that deserts would become hotter, and desertification would extend and become harder to reverse.
