Who would have thunk it? And what does Al Gore have to say about it?

  1. Even with the climate change, Homo Sapiens survived, so I would still say that Darwin's theory of "survival ofthe fittest" applies. Had Neanderthals adapted they could have survived as well.

  2. A scientist would point out that our modern society is much more vulnerable to climate change.  We have a lot of people and very expensive stuff located in low lying coastal areas which will be flooded.  And intensive modern agriculture would have to make major changes as fresh water gets scarcer and prime growing locations for crops change.

We won't all die, but rich countries will get a lot poorer.  In poor countries many people (not all) will die of starvation.

I don't much care what Al Gore would say, I prefer to listen to the scientists.

"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”

Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)

Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut and the first Commander of the Naval Space Command

Here are two summaries of the mountain of data that convinced Admiral Truly, short and long.
