According to research done at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, they have concluded the above.

Doyou think we can do anything in time to prevent this?

If you guys think West Nile is something to sneeze at you are wrong. My father nearly died last summer and still hasn't recovered fully from the devestating effects of this. Children and adults are particularly vulnerable. This is only ONE of many diseases which climate change will help pass from animal to humans in future due to the expanding geographical boundaries created by climate change.

  1. Bob wants to be a cult leader....  When did the bubonic plague occur???????  Guess we were farting too much back then....

    MORONS!!!!!

    Dr. Jello is the MAN!!!!

And these same idiots hate Bush for the faulty intelligence that led to Iraq????  They are so well programed that they attack all facts in favor of their contradiction filled theories.  Al Gore and his beloved non-climatologist scientists are up to 26 plus in their models due to the fact that they get PROVEN WRONG SO MUCH!

  2. West Nile, sars, avian flu, malaria were all supposed to be rampant, world wide pandemics by now.

There isn't any evidence to suggest that there is any more threat from these diseases than at any other time in the Earth history.

If anything, history will show that it's during the times of cold that diseases are more likely to cause pandemics.

The scare tactics that global warming is going to spread more illnesses is just another one of those things that the believers state to scare you into accepting their beliefs.  This will never happen.

  3. Yes, that's what the Centers for Disease Control says.

The chief thing we can do is reducing fossil fuel use, by alternative energy (nuclear, solar wind), and conserving energy.

The longer we wait, the more expensive and disruptive this will be to do.  Global warming is like a big rock rolling downhill.  The longer you wait to stop it, the harder it is to stop.

Here's a detailed plan, which is practical and affordable:

Larry W - The reason there are so many models is that scientists want to be completely sure about this.  They ALL say that global warming is real, and mostly caused by us.  Here are the major ones, from all over the world.

  4. I thought the link you provided was entertaining. But yet speculative even by their own admission. Your right though, most pathogens are opportunist,  the degree of susceptibility is usually limited to the young and old. Most physicians worry more about pollution in the inner cities and industrial areas as a cause of respiratory concern.A pandemic is more likely to occur because of intercontinental travel.Though migratory water fowl have been link to such causes. The Great lakes have been one prime example of this, with cholera outbreaks. Host and vector relationship are contingent up proximity, yearly breeding cycles, environmental conditions, and the overall well being of each.

For the most part climate will only have negotiable consequences. The ratio of predators to prey, under all likely hood will balance out. Rodents and other pest are more dependent on humans, then is what realized. We create food sources and man made habitats they find idea. The deadliest outbreaks of viral infections do occur in cooler weather. The flu has a history of being more detrimental to human life then war.
